Queen Calafia Pullover Hoodie
Queen Calafia Pullover Hoodie
This design fuses Queen Calafia with the modern-day California flag. California gets it's name from this black Amazonia queen, as described by the Spanish conquistadors who arrived in the New World. Notorious conquistador, Hernan Cortes whose arrival caused the fall of the Aztec Empire was said to have been fascinated with the stories of Queen Calafia and was determined to find the legendary queen, even before landing in mainland Mexico. After destroying the Aztec Empire and laying the beginning foundations for what is now Mexico City, Cortez sent an expedition group into modern-day California in search of the queen. The group wandered around the territory, getting as far north as modern-day Sacramento, California before turning back and recalling the search because of lack of supplies and other resources to continue.
